Clinical Studies of Cholecystitis





Abstract
A clinical observation was made of 71 cases of cholecystitis who were treated as in patients at the Chosun University hospital during 3 years from may 1981 until april 1984. The results of observation were as follows
1. The peak age was the fifth decade. The female was involved more frequently and the male to female ratio was 1:1.37.
2. There were chief complaints of pain on RUQ-epigastrium(87.3% ), nausea-vomiting, fever and dyspepsia in order. The pain was not noted in 12.7%. There were the principal physical findings of tenderness on RUQ-epigastrium (85.7% ), jaundice, palpable all bladder, and hepatomegaly in order.
3. Conservative medical treatment performed in 39 cases was resulted in good improvement in 90.6%.
4. Among 28 cases operated, 16 cases (57.2%) were gall stones which consisted of gall bladder stones, 7 cases, and bile duct stones, 9 cases, and 5 cases (17.8% )acute and chronic inflammation without stones.
